Wetplate Photoshoot
Updated: Sep 10, 2020
We did this photoshoot in the fall of 2019 at my shire on Vancouver Island. Together, with photographer Ken Miner, we aimed to capture the spirit of my creativity and witchcraft practices. Wetplate photography is a Victorian era photographic process where an image is captured on a glass plate. Alternatively, you could create a tintype where the image is captured on a piece of tin, rather than a glass/wet plate. Wet plate photography is also identified as the collodion process or ambrotype photography. For these shoots, Ken uses an authentic Victorian wet plate camera that is over 100 years old.
