What is a Power Animal?
Power animals are guardians who assist us, protect us and give us strength. When we are connected with our power animals, we have a stronger knowing of how the spirit world manifests in our everyday human lives. Ted Andrews says beautifully, “ when we pay attention to and acknowledge a nature totem [or power animal], we are honouring the essence that lies behind it. We are opening up and attuning to that essence. We can then use it to understand our own life circumstances more clearly. We can share in its power or “medicine.”
Retrieval is done when a shaman enters into an altered state of consciousness by going into a shamanic journey to find your power animal in the spirit realms. After the shamanic journey is completed, the shaman will tell you what your animal is and any other information about the journey.
Connecting with your power animal can give you a stronger connection to the spirit world. When we are connected to our power animals and to the spirit world, we can understand the language of Mother Earth and hold her gifts in our heart. When we feel as one with nature, we begin to heal ourselves and the world.
Power animals are here to support us. When we need assistance or an answer to a question, we can call upon our power animals for help. We can also nurture the relationship with our power animals to maintain a strong everlasting bond.
Each animal has its own unique characteristics, needs, wants and spiritual significance. Are you excited to get to know your power animal? Do you feel a deep connection or draw to a specific type of animal? If you do, this may be a hint that it is one of your power animals reaching out to you.

“Shamans have long believed their powers were the powers of the animals, of the plants, of the sun, of the basic energies of the universe. In the garden Earth they have drawn upon their assumed powers to help save other humans from illness and death, to provide strength in daily life, to commune with their fellow creatures, and to live a joyful existence in harmony with the totality of nature" - Michael Harner

Power Animal Retrieval
What is Power Animal Retrieval?
Retrieval is done when a shaman enters into an altered state of consciousness by going into a shamanic journey to find your power animal. After the shamanic journey is completed, the shaman will tell you what your animal is and any other information about the journey. Animals are only one type of spirit helper; your shaman may also retrieve your plant guide.
It is absolutely possible to have more than one power animal at once, or throughout your life, but it’s common to have a primary power animal that you connect with. A retrieval may involve reconnecting with a past guide or new one.
Retrievals can be done in person or by distance at a scheduled time. Possible Reasons to find your Power Animal include:
Wanting to expand your consciousness
Wanting a deeper spiritual connection
Wanting to reconnect with your spiritual path
to restore and embrace your power
For anxiety + depression relief
To receive support + guidance
To connect with Mother Nature and learn her language
